If you want to come along to one of our events, but can’t afford to travel to the venue, or otherwise can’t afford to get here, we can now help!
For those who cannot afford bus or train fares, we can partially or fully cover the cost of public transport (and in limited cases, private taxi) to and from the event. We have limited funds, so will be offered on an individual basis.
If we can fund your travel, we can pay for tickets in advance, or can reimburse you when shown a ticket or valid receipt.
We are unlikely to be able to afford to pay for you to attend all our events, but we’ll do as often as we can.
This small bursary is particularly available to people on very low incomes, those who live in rural areas, and disabled people. Please do not apply if you can comfortably afford to pay for your own tickets, or if you can reasonably use other free transport (such as walking or cycling over short distances). Each application will be assessed based on your needs, and we may get in touch for additional information.
[fruitful_alert type=”alert-info”]If you’re applying for the bursary and have a smartphone or tablet, please download and install the Translink mLink app, and sign up using the same email address as you’re applying with.[/fruitful_alert]
No-one outside the GenderJam Committee will know of your individual application, and whether or not you receive help from us.
If you are interested in getting financial help to come to our events, please get in touch using our contact form below, or via another way on our contact page.
